Draft dated July 22, 2026 — not legally approved

Terms of use

These draft terms govern access to and use of The Blind Raven. They are not ready for contractual acceptance until every placeholder has been completed and legally approved.

Legal draft. Every item in square brackets must be completed and the full text must be approved by a lawyer before publication.

Publisher, scope and acceptance

The service is provided by [TO COMPLETE: publisher identity]. These terms apply to visitors and registered members from [TO COMPLETE: effective date].

[TO DECIDE: how acceptance is recorded at registration, how the accepted version is stored and how material updates are presented for renewed acceptance].

Account and eligibility

Members must provide accurate information, use an email address they control and keep their credentials confidential. One person must not access another member’s account without an explicit platform authorisation.

[TO VALIDATE: minimum age and parental-authorisation rules]. The member must promptly report suspected account compromise to [TO COMPLETE: security contact].

Purpose of the service

The Blind Raven helps players and game masters discover one another, organise tabletop role-playing adventures and publish or exchange fictional role-play content. Suggestions are indicative and do not guarantee compatibility, attendance or the quality of a session.

The current application does not process payments between members and does not sell a subscription. Separate sale and withdrawal terms must be introduced before any paid feature is enabled.

Member content and licence

Members remain responsible for content they publish or send and must hold the rights needed to use it. They must respect the visibility selected for each feature and must not disclose another person’s private information without permission.

[TO VALIDATE: limited, non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence strictly necessary to host, reproduce, format and display content for operation of the service; duration and consequences of account deletion].

Prohibited conduct

In particular, members must not:

  • publish illegal content or infringe intellectual-property, privacy or personality rights;
  • harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate or dox another person;
  • circumvent access, blocking, moderation, rate-limiting or account-security measures;
  • send spam, malware or automated traffic that disrupts the service;
  • use fictional role-play as a pretext for non-consensual abusive conduct.

Moderation, reports and suspension

Content and accounts may be reported. Authorised moderators may review the relevant content, dismiss or resolve a report, restrict interactions, remove content or suspend an account when needed to protect users, comply with the law or enforce these terms.

[TO COMPLETE AND VALIDATE: notice, reasons, appeal channel, emergency action, evidence retention and treatment of manifestly abusive reports]. Blocking another member restricts critical interactions but does not replace a report when content may be illegal or dangerous.

Availability, liability and member relationships

The service may evolve, be interrupted for maintenance or contain defects. Members remain solely responsible for agreeing the practical conditions of their games, for their own safety and for the content they choose to share.

[TO VALIDATE: applicable warranties, liability exclusions and caps, force majeure, consumer-law exceptions and rules for external links]. Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by law.

Closing an account

[TO COMPLETE: self-service closure or request channel, confirmation process and expected time]. The consequences for public collaborative content, private messages, reports, audit records and backups must follow the validated privacy retention schedule.

Applicable law and contact

[TO COMPLETE AND VALIDATE: applicable law, competent courts, mandatory consumer mediation details and any required pre-litigation process].

Questions about these terms can be sent to [TO COMPLETE: legal contact email and postal address].
